  Abstract:  Rod al unei laborioase activităţi de cer-cetare, prezentul studiu botanic, efectuat în perimetrul platoului vulcanic Sovata-Praid-Dealu, contribuie cu date noi, atât la cunoaş-terea florei şi vegetaţiei actuale, cât şi a celei postglaciare, reconstituită pe baza analizei sporopolenice a turbei din mlaştinile aferen-te acestei regiuni. Lucrarea este structurată judicios în 8 părţi interdependente, reliefând necesitatea valorificării raţionale a potenţialului vegetal din regiunea cercetată, în vederea conser-vării în condiţii optime atât a genofondului, cât şi a unor biocenoze caracteristice, care adăpostesc numeroase specii relictare, cu un deosebit interes fitogeografic.
