Rezumat:  Learning Biology by Using Groupwork Strategies. An Experimental Study Within 9th Grade. The aim of the experimental study presented below was to demonstrate the following hypothesis: groupwork combined with individual tasks could make the learning process in Biology to become more efficient than it is when the classic (old) learning strategies are used.In order to demonstrate this hypothetical statement, new patterns for teaching and learning activities were created and proposed as a current work strategy for Biology class sessions in the experimental classes. This paper presents how these strategies have been used within 9th grade and what are the results obtained. In the first part are presented the conclusions of the questioning stage of the experiment when the teachers of Biology expressed their opinions about the hypothetical issue. The second part deals with the experimental stage, when the Biology lessons have taken place in 9th grade - control and experimental classes, comparable from the starting data point of view - according with the experimental requirements for the equivalent groups technique. There are presented: the experimental samples (students and contents); the general structure and approach of teaching and learning sessions during which has been applied the improved groupwork strategy; suggestions for the teacher`s interference in this case when we changed the rate between the types of activities; the assessment system and the results.
