Rezumat:  Jean Cocteau a globe-trotting reporter. In 1936, at a time when it was the fashion for newspaper editors to ask writers for a series of articles, Jean Prouvost, the editor of Paris-Soir, challenged Jean Cocteau. He asked him to take up the bet of Jules Verne`s hero, Phileas Fogg, and circumnavigate the world in 80 days, without using any modern transport: only boats and trains. So the globe-trotter Jean Cocteau became an international reporter, writing a whole series of daily articles throughout his trip. We wanted to investigate the way in which Jean Cocteau became such an original journalist, so different from a typical international reporter, and also to study his ability to capture in an instant the differences between East and West.
