Number 3 of the journal Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Historia was a dedicated number to history of art and was published for the first time in 1996. Romanian and foreign famous art historians, historians, philosophers, men of culture and young researchers published in Historia both in Romanian and international languages. Since 2002, works have been published in international languages.

Since 2008, Number 3 of the journal Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Historia has become independent and changed its name to Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Historia Artium.

All works are accompanied by abstracts in international languages.

The magazine was and still is an open door to the best specialists as well as to the most promising young researchers in the field of art history.

The editorial staff is supported by current and former members of the Art History Department at the Faculty of History and Philosophy, in Babes-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca. The magazine is meant to support the development of a subject eliminated in the years of communist dictatorship, but which is absolutely necessary for strengthening the analysis and synthesis of national treasures of artistic Romanian and international contributions; we are convinced that the heritage will return to the forefront of national attention and European (not only) years to come.
