Studia UBB Biologia appears twice a year (June, December) and publishes research articles, short communications, abstracts, reviews and book reviews on all fields of biology. In memoriam papers are also published. The articles are assessed by specialized reviewers who do not know the author(s)’ identity. Same case applies to author(s), to whom the identity of the reviewer(s) is concealed.

The journal is classified by the Romanian National Council of Scientific Research of Higher Education (CNCSIS) in the B+ Category.

When citing this journal, please use the abbreviation: Studia UBB Biologia.


Receipt of the articles, information about copyright

The preferred modality of submission is via the Online Submission form. The papers which do not follow the format would be automatically rejected [Word template].
The authors will be announced on the acceptance or rejection of their papers and about the suggestions made by the reviewers via e-mail: All papers are reviewed independently by referees, but the authors are entirely responsible for the content of their papers. All published papers will become property of the journal.


The paper submission for the Studia UBB Biologia volumes are programmed as follow:
‐ For volume 1 the final papers will be received until the beginning of April;
‐ For volume 2 the final papers will be received until the beginning of October.
