  Abstract:  Dumitru Stăniloae ca figură conducătoare a teologiei ortodoxe în secolul XX. Prelegerea de faţă a fost susţinută la Facultatea de Teologie Evanghelică a Universităţii din Heidelberg în 6 mai 2000 în cadrul programului de schimb academic "SOCRATES". În prima parte este prezentată viaţa şi opera Părintelui Profesor Dumitru Stăniloae; în partea a doua sistemul său teologic (teo – hristo – eclesiocentric) şi câteva caracteristici esenţiale ale teologiei sale. Teologia Părintelui Stăniloae este o teologie mărturisitoare, teologia iubirii şi a comuniunii. În partea a treia este prezentată teologia Părintelui Stăniloae în perspectiva învăţăturii despre Dumnezeu - Sfânta Treime, structura supremei iubiri şi baza mântuirii şi îndumenzeirii noastre prin har.
