  Abstract:  Tugend in stoische Philosophie. Für die Stoa ist die Tugend ein wichtiges Prinzip, in der Sinne, dass es für den Menschen kommt, der sein Lebensziel erreichen will, alles darauf an, vernunftgemäss oder tugendhaft zu sein. Will er glücklich leben, so muβ er sittlich leben. Die Tugend ist "autark für die Glückseligkeit" und alles andere ohne Belang; ist ein bestimmtes Ethos, ein auf ein festes Wissen gegründetes Tätigsein und darum wie das Wiessen und die Vernunft selbst nicht nur eine und unwandelbar, sondern selbst für Gott und Mensch dieselbe. Nur die Tugend ist ein Gut, nur die Schlechtigkeit ein Übel und alles andere, zwischen dem man gemeinhin sehr wohl zu unterscheiden pflege, indifferent.
