  Abstract:  Patriarch Miron Cristea contributions to support culture and Romanian School. Dr. Miron Cristea (1868 - 1939), the first Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church (1925 - 1939), had an important contribution at supporting the culture and the Romanian school: he promoted the Romanian customs and traditions, he supported the Romanian theatre, confessional schools, cultural associations, popular banks and libraries, the foundations which supported the promotion of the handcrafts among the Romanians, he organized courses of teaching people to read and write, he founded schools of technology and of sacred music, he sustained the publishing of church magazines ("The Romanian Orthodox Church", "The Apostle"), "The Bible" (in 1936 and 1938), "The New Testament", in many editions, books for the divine service, books of orthodox spirituality, works of Romanian and universal culture.
