Article:   IMPERATIVE RESEARCH THEMES IN HISTORICAL THEOLOGY.

Authors:  IOAN-VASILE LEB.

Abstract:  A history is based primarily on sources, which makes us wonder where are we today on this issue. After my appreciation in this matter we are extremely tributary to foreign research, whether Catholic or Protestant. A critical, centralized, long-term editing of sources is needed. This means a clear and financed coordination of the work and is well known that these sources can be edited whenever necessary, of course with the necessary improvements. Textbooks or compendia should also be made for the historical field. A history of all Orthodox Churches should be another goal of historical theology, focused too much on the Western Area. A totally inexistent chapter in the historical research so far is the hermeneutic of history and the theology of history, two fundamental themes of historical research, on which the Romanian historical theology will have to insist.

Keywords: historical research, Romanian historical theology.
