A well known priest, University professor and specialist in Byzantinology, Fr. Vasile Muntean enriched through this work the Romanian ecclesiastic historiography. His scientific competence was acknowledged long ago not only by Church personalities (which is a normal thing), but especially by distinguished men of culture from our country and abroad, thus being a dignified follower of his distinguished master, Prof. Univ. Dr. Alexandru Elian, a member of the Romanian Academy.
