  Abstract:  The Fulfilled Gift – In the Relation between Christ and the Church There Is the Fulfilment of the Matrimonial Relation. The human relationship consecrated by God after creating Adam and Eve is the matrimony. The image of the wedding between a man and a woman is actually understood and similar to the union between Christ and the Church, between the Saviour and the humanity, the divine Brew and the earthy bride. The marriage is seen as the fulfilment of love. And through love, God created the human being, male and female, and gave His Son in ransom because of the sin of the human couple. The restoration of the human couple in Christ is perfectly described as a matrimonial relation in whom every member is offering entirely to the other, in order to receive the other’s sacrifice in love, as Saint Paul presented it in Ephesians 5. We should see the creation and the wedding of Adam and Eve in the light of the re-creation and of the salvation of mankind, because this is the only way to get the entire mystery of God’s plan for the love of humanity.
