  Article:   FORGING TOOLS IN ROMAN DACIA.

  Abstract:  Forging tools in Roman Dacia. Forging handicraft in the Roman ancient time, including Dacia, had as purpose the elicitation of quotidian use objects, weapons, tools ment to be used in other handicrafts and tools specific to the forging itself. That is why, this handicraft represented an important activity of technique development of this period, on the knowledge and progress of this domain depended all the others and the use of forged tools determined the efficiency of work, and implicitly the level of production.This text introduces and classifies according to the criterion of shape, the main categories of forging tools known in Dacia: bellows cleaners, sustaining tools (anvils), deforming tools (hammers), grabbing tools (nippers) and auxiliary tools (chisels, screw taps, dotting tools, files, compasses, spoons for metal pouring). All pieces that are presented chronologically belong to the second and the third century.
