Abstract:  Individuation, Synchronicity and a New Paradigm. Elaborated by C. G. Jung as a therapeutic alternative to Freudian psychoanalysis, analytical psychology has aroused controversies both among scientists and theologians. Jung used his clinical experience to assert the existence of the image of God in the psychic of any human being. Jung considers the phenomena of synchronicity as signals of the individuation beginning and as indicators of the direction of this process. Jung’s conception converges with theories of contemporary physics into a new cognitive paradigm. His discourse can be considered as transdisciplinary. Basarab Nicolescu refers to transdisciplinarity as the appropriate modality to relate to the complex reality described by contemporary physics.

Keywords: analytical psychology, collective unconscious, archetype, individuation, synchronicity, transdisciplinarity, God, quantum mechanics, paradigm
