Abstract:  Easter Calculation. Short History and Prospects. The article revisits the theme of the diversity of Easter calculation, always topical in Romania, especially in years like 2008, with a difference of 5 weeks between Catholic and Orthodox Easter. After reviewing the characteristic elements of Easter calculation in the Bible, the connection between the Jewish and the Christian Easter, and offering explanation about the structure of a lunar and solar calendar, the article studies the various controversies taking place throughout history and the solutions found to them. The Gregorian calendar reform introduces new differences in the Easter calculation and the conclusion of the study presents some possible ways to solve the difference or to live with it in a multicultural society.
