THE FIGURE OF THE SPIRITUAL FATHER IN AN ORIENTAL, GREEK-CATHOLIC, SEMINARY / LA FIGURA DEL PADRE SPIRITUALE IN UN SEMINARIO TEOLOGICO ORIENTALE GRECO-CATTOLICO.

Abstract: The present research work is an original approach as regards both the theme, plentifully treated in the existent works about the figure and role of the spiritual director in a Theological Seminary and particularly for including the theme in a tradition and in a religious Greek-Catholic ambience, starting from the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches. Starting from the description of the main characteristics of the theology and spirituality of Christian Orient, the author sets a chronology of training the seminarians in order to come to consider the figure of the spiritual director and his activity specific to a Greek-Catholic Theological Seminary of the present time. The study is very useful for trainers in seminaries and for all those who are interested in training clergy in the Greek-Catholic Churches.

Lo studio presente è un approccio inedito tanto per il tema già presente negli studi esistenti sulla problematica del padre spirituale in un seminario teologico, ma molto di più per la collocazione in un ambiente greco-cattolico cioè partendo dal Codice dei canoni delle Chiese orientali con applicazioni attenenti il diritto particolare delle Chiese. A partire dalla descrizione dei tratti fondamentali della teologia e della spiritualità dell’Oriente cristiano, l’autore traccia una linea storica della formazione dei seminaristi per arrivare all’analisi della figura del padre spirituale e della sua attività specifica in un seminario teologico greco-cattolico nel tempo odierno. Lo studio è molto utile per i formatori nei seminari e per tutti quegli interessati della formazione del clero delle Chiese greco-cattoliche.
