  Abstract:  Non sono molti quelli che osano fare delle ricerche sulle unioni in generale e sul Concilio di Ferrara–Firenze: sembrano argomenti tabù per tutti indistintamente. Eppure quel concilio c’è stato ed aveva sancito l’unità delle Chiese. Non vi parteciparono solo la chiesa latina e quella greca, ma tutti i cristiani dell’Oriente: russi, armeni, copti, etiopi, caldei, maroniti e nestoriani. E parecchi hanno sottoscritto il decreto di unione dopo aver apportato delle modifiche relative alle loro Chiese. Pochi sono quelli che guardano al concilio di Ferrara–Firenze come a un modello di unione da cui ripartire per giungere ad una unità rispettosa delle diversità.
