	Abstract: Four new complexes of Cu(II) and Ni(II) with the ligands L1 (2-N-acetyl-salicyliden-hydrazino-4-clormethyl thiazole) and L2 (2-N-acetyl-salicyliden-hydrazino-4-thiazolyl acetic ester) were synthetized and investigated by IR, ESR and UV-VIS spectroscopy and by magnetic susceptibility measurements. A correlation of these data suggest that the complexes are of the type [ML1(CH3COO)]H2O and [ML2(CH3COO)]. L1 and L2 act as tridentate ligands and the complexes have a distorted tetrahedral (D2d) local symmetry around the Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions.
