  Abstract:   Depuis quelque temps on croit que pour rendre une voix audible à un large public, il faut inventer une stratégie exotique et produire par conséquence l’inédit, le jamais vu, etc. On pourra donc croire que dans un pays où il existe une culture consolidée du dialogue intellectuel, comme c’est le cas de la France, une revue doit, pour s’imposer sur une marche déjà remplie, respecter certains impératifs de l’innovation. L’exemple de la revue Cités démontre qu’on peut construire une publication avec un profil et une personnalité propre sans porter de l’eau au moulin du marketing.
