  Abstract:  Profesor la Universitatea Paris XII Val-de-Marne, Eliane Escoubas s-a re-marcat prin lucrările ei în domenii ca fenomenologia, filosofia germană, filo-sofia limbajului şi filosofia artei, precum şi prin traducerile din limba germană ale Recherches phénoménologiques pour la constitution (Ideen II) a lui Husserl şi a cărţii lui Adorno: Kirkegaard - construction de l’estéthique. Cartea sa de referinţă - Imago mundi. Topologie de l’art - face o analiza fenomenologică a imaginii în pictură şi în poezie având ca reper filosofia lui Kant şi a lui Heidegger. Imaginea nu mai este privită ca imitaţie, ci ca fenomen sau "apariţie".
