Abstract:  Discursive particles should be annotated as adjacent core units? Status and syntactic features of some discursive particles, and a study of the word “genre” in spoken language. Using the macrosyntactic approach of the Aix School of Linguistics, the author proposes that discursive particles should be integrated as adjacent core units (ad-noyaux), together with the core units (noyaux), in the structure of the spoken discourse units. The macrosyntactic construction is called ilocutory unit. Based on oral corpora, the study shows the behaviour of discursive particles in interaction, bringing new elements for the description of language functioning and possible applications for natural language processing.

Key words: macrosyntax, discursive particles, pragmatic values, ilocutory unit, oral corpora annotation.
