  Abstract:  François Weyergans and Kenzaburô Ôé: Perpetuating the Father or Saving the Son? Every writer has his own motivation in choosing writing as a means of expression. Sometimes both death and disillusionment can leave unforgettable marks. Although they belong to different cultural fields, the two writers in question are victims of fate. They both experienced the difficulty of the literary text and managed to structure it around central figures that finally inspired them for writing.
