Authors:  ADELA SILLER.

Abstract:  The phonology of contemporary romanian language deals with groups of sounds known as diphtongs and triphtongs. This article presents the situations in which three semivowels and a vowel may appear in the same syllable. The acceptance of the fact that [č] or [ğ] may be followed by semivowels has several important consequences also on the morphological level (concercing the distribution of verbs in conjugation classes, the suffixes of certain verbal moods or tenses etc.).
