Abstract Some Considerations on Latin Compared with Other Contact Languages, in Hronicul vechimei a romano-moldo-vlahilor by Dimitrie Cantemir. In this article, I propose to discuss some particularities of the language used by Dimitrie Cantemir in Hronicul vechimei a romano-moldo-vlahilor, taking into account the linguistic contacts in that era and the context of re-Latinization or re-Romanization of the Romanian language. To this end, I have consulted different editions of the Prince’s work to highlight convergences or differences in the presentation of language classes, and the way the author approaches the different languages with which he was in contact in his work.

Keywords: lexicon, Romanian language, the Moldavian sub-dialect, the Chronicle, Dimitrie Cantemir, Romance concordances
