  Abstract:  As hospital settings in Romania are becoming increasingly multicultural working environments, the need for linguistic and cultural mediators is growing accordingly. The present paper means to analyze the current state of facts in what concerns the level of healthcare professional – language professional interaction and to pinpoint the specific requirements of the domain in general as well as in the Romanian context.
