  Abstract:  The main instruments for quality evaluation and improvement – Benchmarking and Total Quality Management. The article presents two of the most known methods used for measuring the general activity of a company and especially, for evaluating and improving the quality of it. The quality is a concept that has to be present in any of the company process, at any level and has to be part of any employee’s culture and attitude. The article relieves the advantages and disadvantages of each method described bellow from the quality point of view.
