Abstract:  Asteroids that can pass inside the orbit of Mars are said to be earEarth Asteroids (EAs) or Earth-Approaching asteroids. The EAs are subdivided into several groups based on their orbital characteristics. There are three important groups: Amor, Apolo and Aten. In this paper we sho that fundamental characteristics of this classification, for hich these groups are lnear separable, are the focal distance and the semimajor axis. Starting from this property we construct a perceptron-type artificial neural network to classify automatically these objects into groups Amor, Apolo or Aten
