  Abstract:  Reeditarea lucrării lui Henri Lévy Ullmann, devenită clasică în doctrina dreptului comparat, constituie un eveniment editorial de primă mână: lucrarea a fost publicată în 1928, fiind axată pe studiul izvoarelor dreptului englez (common law, statute law, Equity); Henri Lévy Ullmann a înfiinţat în 1931 Institutul de drept comparat de la Paris; ediţia de faţă cuprinde un cuvânt înainte de profesorul Louis Vogel, Directorul Institutului de drept comparat din Paris (sunt menţionate şi alte lucrări publicate de acelaşi autor, iar Henri Lévy Ullmann este apreciat alături de Raymond Saleilles şi Henry Capitant ca unul din fondatorii dreptului comparat; sunt rezumate ideile principale din lucrare şi se insistă asupra ideii fondului comun care ar exista între sistemele latine şi germanice şi care ar marca originile dreptului englez).
