  Abstract:  Problema cu care se deschide discuţia este cea de a stabili dacă se mai poate azi de un etos al profesiei didactice şi care ar fi acesta.Este el un privilegiu al civilizaţiilor evluate? Şi dacă da, atunci cum măsurăm evoluţia? In fine, ce este etosul? O expliacţie poate fi formulată din înţelegerea progresului ca modul de transmitere a cvilizaţiei spirituale de la ogeneraţie la alta prin generaţii. Născut într-o cultură, omul participă la ea si absoarbe alte culturi prin intermediul imbii vorbite. Un european mediu cunoaşte minim yece mii de cuvinte în limba natală.
