  Abstract:  În data de 29 mai 2007, Aula Magna a Universităţii „Babeş-Bolyai” din Cluj-Napoca a găzduit festivitatea de acordare a titlului de doctor honoris causa d-lui. Michel Grimaldi, profesor la Universitatea Paris II „Panthéon-Assas” şi preşedinte în exerciţiu al Association „Henri Capitant” des amis de la culture juridique française. Născut în 1949 la Paris, dl. Grimaldi este licenţiat în litere (1969) şi drept (1971). După studii masterale în drept privat şi în ştiinţe penale (1973), şi-a luat doctoratul în 1977 cu menţiunea foarte bine, teza având ca temă La nature juridique de l''''institution contractuelle şi fiind premiată de Universitatea Paris II. Agregat ca profesor în 1978, predă succesiv la Limoges, Paris XIII şi Paris XII, iar din 1990 la Paris II. A activat ca profesor invitat al universităţilor din Fribourg (1991), Padova (1994), Louisiana (1997), Osaka (2003) şi Cluj-Napoca (2004) şi a fost distins cu titlurile de profesor h.c. al Universităţii Mendoza, Argentina (1998) şi Garcilaso de la Vega, Lima – Peru (2000), respectiv doctor h.c. al Universităţii din Liège (2003).
