  Abstract:   One of the communication phenomena that the Internet has enabledin the last years is blogging. Taking into consideration the sociological effects that are developing in the blogosphere a few questions arise, such as: how is the blogosphere evolving, do events that develop in the blogosphere inuence thereal world or how could one efficiently analyze real time blog data? This paper addresses the first question just after it introduces the reader into the notions that represent the foundation of all the results presented. Thus it will define the concept of blog, blogosphere, blog and post networks and cascades. At the end the cascade development model will be described along with the conclusions and future work.
