Abstract:  Clustering is the process of grouping a set of objects into classes of similar objects. Refactoring is the process of improving the design of software systems. It improves the internal structure of the system, but without altering the external behavior of the code ([5]). In [1] we have proposed a new approach for improving systems design using clustering. The aim of this paper is to analyze the in°uence of distance metrics for clustering based improvement of systems design. We are focussing on identifying the most suitable distance metric. The study is made on the clustering based approach developed in [1].
