  Abstract:  Odată cu lucrarea lui Al. Mareş, Filigranele hârtiei întrebuinţate în Ţările Române în secolul al XVI-lea, (Bucureşti, Editura Academiei Române, 1987), filigranologia românească a intrat într-o nouă fază a ei, aceea a studiului sistematic al hârtiei pe care s-a scris sau s-a tipărit pentru perioade mai ample. Din cercetările referitoare la hârtia folosită în secolul al XVII-lea menţionăm studiile lui O. Guţu (moara lui Matei Basarab), S. Jako (hârtia transilvăneană din sec. XVII), Eva Mârza (tiparul din Alba Iulia), G. Nussbächer, L. Papacostea-Danielopulu şi L. Demény, M. Popescu (hârtia munteană din sec. XVII) etc.
