Abstract:  An exhaustive study concerning the religious syncretism in Roman Dacia can only be desirable as it has been a necessity in order to have a better and more accurate understanding of the religious phenomena from the trajanic province. Although the task was not an easy one, due to the lack of antique written sources, to the complexity but also ambiguity in which the term syncretism was used during the time in the science of religions, Sorin Nemeti succeeded in isolating those religious behaviors that can be characterized as syncretic, using a strong methodological framework in the analysis of the epigraphic and sculptural monuments from Roman Dacia. The book is the result of a PhD research at the “Babeş-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca. In present the author is lecturer at the “Babeş-Bolyai” University, History and Philosophy Faculty, Ancient History and Archaeology Department, Cluj-Napoca.
