Examination of the stone materials allows the determination their mineral composition, their texture and structure, signs of weathering that took place both in the deposit itself and later architectural usage. Sedimentary rocks show a whole range of sedimentary structures and numerous fossils. Sometimes it is possible to learn about the methods of stone quarrying and processing (Rajchel, 2004).
