  Abstract:  Among the paleontological reservations, the Şcheia area (located 25 km south of city of Iaşi, in NE of Romania) marks an outstanding representative Sarmatian fossil association, in the Moldavian Platform (Eastern Paratethys). The area was declared as natural reservation in 2004 (Romanian Government Decision no. 2151/2004) and is actually managed by the Local Council of the Şcheia village. The reservation belongs to the IVth category, according to the classification of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The surface of the reservation is approximately 1 ha.
