Abstract:  Geomorphological implications on residential areas sprawl in the south-east of Floreşti village. A specific present-day urbanistic issue is related to of residential areas sprawl, both in towns and at the countryside. The constraints are derived from two main directions: from the administrative aspects and from the natural environmental characteristics. The main natural limitations are generated by the geomorphological characteristics, geodynamics and geotechnical features. We considered as the main parameters the slope, the relief energy, the drainage density, and some geotechnical properties (natural moisture, volumetric density, internal friction angle, etc.). Additionally, we performed a detailed microscale morphometrical and morphological assessment. As a result of the morphometrical and geotechnical criteria, three types of homogeneous units were identified: stable units, moderate instable potential units and highly instable potential units. Information like these is needed at different levels of the territorial management documentation (Zonal Urbanistic Plans, Detailed Urbanistic Plans, etc.), as is mentioned in specific legislation.
