Abstract:  Raising the Level of Professional (Tourism) Expertise through a Leonardo da Vinci Initiative of Setting Up a Centre for Tourism Training. The present study aims at disseminating the initiative undertaken by the Faculty of Geography BBU, i.e. of setting up a Centre for Tourism Training for the full benefit of those who already work as tourism employees and for tourism trainees. The initiative is expected to: raise the level of professional qualification of a relatively large number of present and future tourism employees, respond to the sectoral, regional qualification needs, adopt a new, lifelong learning approach to vocational training. The Centre will function according to European training, evaluation and certification standards, norms and criteria.
