Abstract:  Aspects of Hydrographic Organization and the Issue of Water Resources in the Giurgeu Depression. An optimal use of water resources in territorial development is a major objective. This is a desideratum also stated in the specialised documents of the European Union. The Giurgeu Depression microregion has quantitatively sufficient water resources to sustain a lasting development of the region. However, owing to certain processes - processes that have amplified especially in the last decade (massive deforestation in the torrential hidrographic basins and abusive grazing) - the quality of water undergoes a permanent process of degradation. The degree of faisability of developmental programs to be elaborated, will greatly depend on the manner in which one will consider the topic of water resources in the region.
