  Article:   FUNCTIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL UNITS OF THE MEDIAŞ MUNICIPALITY.

  Abstract:  Functional environmental units of the Medias. The urban environmental system can be defined as the area where the information is distributed and processed, where the consequences of the human impact on the environmental components are obvious and strong and which, when permanent, determines a continuous functional and structural modification. The analysis of the urban environmental system is a very complex process implying the succession of certain steps: both the physical-geographical and the social-economic analysis, and not last, the analysis of the induced human pollution. Through a complex analysis, the town of Mediaş can be divided in functional environmental units and sub-units by taking into account all the main factors: physical, economic, administrative and environmental. The purpose of this delimitation is to determine the human pressure on the environment by considering the nature and functionality of each unit (sub-unit).
