  Abstract:  Natural Touristic Potential of the Harghita Mountains. The Harghita Mountains represent the Southern End of the neoeruptive mountains from the Oriental Carpathians, and furthermore the Westernmost massive of the Central Group, that dominates in the east the Ciuc Basin, and in the west the Transylvanian Highlands (Subcarpathians). This region is part of a volcanic landscape, that includes to whole line of volcanic landscape from the inner area of the Romanian Carpathians. In the morphology of the Harghita Mountains, dominants are the volcanic cones, craters, lava platforms, and in the hydrography, the mineral water resources and the volcanic crates lake St. Ana. The touristic exploitations of such areas and landscape advantages the curative tourism, completed by the leisure tourism, for winter sports, hunting and fishing.
