Abstract:  Several Aspects regarding the Romanian Emigration to Spain. This paper analyses the issue of the Romanian emigration to Spain, insisting on the causes which led to the intensification of migration, the positive and negative effects for Romania determined by this phenomenon. The paper presents the structure of the Romanian population in Spain, according to gender, age, social classes and fields of activity. A certain recent increase in numbers of the Romanian population in Spain has been underlined, as well as the concentration of these migrants in six Spanish regions: Madrid, Valencia, Catalonia, Castilla la Mancha, Aragon and Andaluzia. Most of the Romanians are not taken in the accounts of the Spanish General Police statistics, because of the lack of a labour contract or residence permit. However, data provided by Spanish statistics place the Romanians among the main foreign national groups present in Spain, reaching 74569 persons on September 30, 2004.
