Abstract:  The Historical and Legislative Frame of Land Ownership in the Someş Plain from 1918 to the Present. The agricultural landscape, though apparently stable, changed essentially along the different historic periods in connection with the evolution of socio-economic relationships. The land’s ownership had a great influence both on the agriculture’s development and on the state of the econony in general. The actual capitalistic development in the agriculture of this region started in the 19th century, but the Unification of the Inner-Carpathian provinces (Transylvania, Banat, Crişana and Maramureş) with Romania, the communist rule after World War II and its fall in 1989 brought major changes both in the structure of land ownership and in the general economic development of the upper Tisa’s basin. The second part of this essay presents the evolution of land ownership and its social impact for the period after 1918.
