  Abstract:  

The study describes the general aspects of media and ethnic diversity in Europe focusing on the programs financially supported by the European Union Institutions.

After a brief theoretical introduction in the field of ethnic media, media diversity, and ethnic discrimination, the article presents some of the most relevant European funding programs that support anti-ethnic discrimination in Europe. Also, the study refers to the Speak Out Against Discrimination Campaign of the Council of Europe, program that by its announced objectives aims to create a professional background for journalism practice as far as media covering diversity is concerned. Also, the article mentions one of the most recent training programs conducted by the Council of Europe and focuses on reporting on media diversity. Finally, the most important recommendations from the final report on Media and Diversity, the Campaign of the Council of Europe, are presented.
