Abstract:  Marguerite Yourcenar was never a journalist; a profession with a label she was not partial to. At best, she published excerpts of her gestational works in publications. Thus, 112 publications can flatter themselves having published several pages of the novelist; this use of the prepublication lasted throughout her life as a writer, from 1926 to 1986. Magazines were only allowed samplings of her works. Only six share a limited portion of her written works, for example to respond to readers wondering how Memoirs of Hadrian was written or to display the emotion of the novelist at a time when adolescents committed suicide to escape rough times. All throughout her career, Marguerite Yourcenar kept herself informed of articles concerning her. The scorners were pale next to the clairvoyant judges, holders of the grandeur of l`Academicienne.
