THE BIRTH OF THE SEEING SUBIECT. Authors: DORU POP. |
||||||
Abstract: The Birth of the Seeing Subiect. The essay is describing a map of the main concepts in the philosophical work of Michel Foucault concerning the relations between the viewer and the objects both in the metaphysical and in the speculative universe. The topics are: the perceived viewer (voir/ percevoir), the power of sight (voir/ pouvoir), observation and perception (voir/ percevoir), the spectacle of the body, exterior representations, the captive sight and the clinical sight. At the end the author is showing the means by which in modernity sight has taken over all the power structures of knowledge and the way the eye replaced rationality in the methods of creating discursive authority within the field of self representation. | |||||||
