Abstract: VIEW PDF: DADA À LA FENÊTRE Dada at the window. As a historical repertory, Dada theater is almost absent from the contemporary stages. Does it mean that it doesn’t have any descendants? No. And Tzara’s homeland is the country that gave it an assumed son. Matei Visniec was born in 1956 in Romania, which he leaves for France in 1987. He starts writing in French in 1992 and achieves his first success in France with the play Les chevaux à la fenêtre. He is nowadays the most performed author in his country of origin, massively translated and staged in most countries all around the world. Matei Visniec was the most represented author during the last Avignon festival with 5 of his plays running. Keywords: dada, theatre, split, illusions, conventions, language.
