  Abstract:  Longtemps considéré par la critique comme étant le paragon du magicien de la Renaissance, le docteur Faust de Marlowe se trouve en fait aux antipodes de l’image du philosophe et scientifique occultiste, telle qu’on la découvre dans les écrits de Ficin, de Pic de la Mirandole, ou de Giovan Batista Gelli. En sombrant dans le vice et en reniant Dieu, Faust devient en fait un anti-héro, un homme qui préfère l’animalité des sens à la divinité de l’esprit.
