	Abstract: Silviu Purcărete is a famous theatre director which has staged theatre and opera on Romanian scenes (București, Craiova, Piatra Neamţ, Constanţa, Sibiu) and abroad (Limoges, Essen, Viena etc) and has honored the invitation in prestigious international festivals (Avignon, Edinburgh, Tokio, Melbourne, Montreal, Glasgow etc). In 2002 he starts his own theatre company. Owner of many prices for his artistic excellence, in 2002 he is awarded the Star of Romania, degree of commandor.
