Abstract:  Calibration of radiocarbon dates of 11 samples collected from a recently collapsed African baobab is discussed. The 1-s calibrated calendar ages of several old samples are over 1000 yr. The obtained results also suggest that the investigated baobab was morphologically a multiple tree, with several fused stems, while genetically it was a single individual.
