  Article:   FIRST COMPLETE GENOME SEQUENCE OF A SALINIVIBRIO MEMBER AND PHYLOGENOMICS OF THE WHOLE GENUS.

  Abstract:  Salinivibrios are moderately halophilic bacteria that inhabit hypersaline environments, brines and salty meats. Our group has recently sequenced 36 draft genomes including type and reference strains within the genus Salinivibrio (López-Hermoso et al., 2017). Nevertheless, no complete genome sequence is currently available for this genus. Therefore, this study was focused on the complete genome reconstruction of the type strain of S. kushneri AL184T and on the detailed phylogenomic analysis of the available Salinivibrio genomes. A PacBio library with 10 kbp insert size was constructed and a 350X coverage was achieved. The genome of S. kushneri AL184T consists of two circular chromosomes containing 2,840,906 bp and 602,384 bp, 2,524 and 531 CDS, and a DNA G+C content of 50.9 % and 50.1 %, respectively. This complete genome was used as a reference for synteny analyses and contig arrangement of the other Salinivibrio type strain genomes. Phylogenomics of this genus was performed by using the core orthologous gene set identified by shared reciprocal best matches. This analysis allowed the proper affiliation of the Salinivibrio strains to a validly published species name.
